Since on the Putty Keys page it shows the Master Key's fingerprint, I went ahead and certified the Master key in Kleopatra, but.ġ) How can I certify the Release key, since there's no fingerprint for it? On the Putty Keys page it says something about the Master key being used to sign the Release and Snapshot keys but I'm not sure how this works.Ģ) fingerprint for the Master key can be found on the page but doesn't this defeat the whole purpose of signing, like someone could change the Master key and alter the fingerprint too? Maybe I'm missing something. So I downloaded the Master and Release keys and imported them into my keyring PuTTYgen.exe is the graphical tool on Windows OS. ![]() It is available for the various operating system, i.e. ![]() asc files for the Master key, Release key and Snapshot key, along with the fingerprint for the Master key. Though it collects keys in its own file format i.e.ppk files, keys can also be transformed to any other file format quickly. So I downloaded putty.exe and the RSA sig file PuTTY: putty.exe (or by FTP) (RSA sig) (DSA sig) On the putty site, on the download page we have:
